Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Jurnal Teknoif Teknik Informatika Institut Teknologi Padang recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) tools may assist researchers in writing, editing, coding, translation, data analysis, and other research activities. Their use must remain transparent, responsible, and consistent with research integrity.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools when those tools materially contribute to manuscript preparation, content generation, data analysis, image generation, or other aspects of the research, in accordance with the journal's submission requirements. The disclosure should identify the tool and explain its purpose and scope of use.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, citations, interpretation, and integrity of all submitted content, including material produced with AI assistance.
AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, generate misleading evidence, create false references, conceal plagiarism, or misrepresent research methods or results.
Editors and Reviewers
Editors and reviewers must protect manuscript confidentiality. They must not upload unpublished manuscripts or confidential peer-review materials to AI tools that are not authorized for such use or that may compromise confidentiality.
AI tools must not replace independent scholarly judgment or the human responsibility for editorial decisions and peer-review assessments.
Editorial Assessment
The journal may request clarification about AI use when necessary and may take appropriate action when undisclosed or inappropriate use raises concerns about accuracy, originality, confidentiality, or publication ethics.
This policy may be updated as responsible AI practices and relevant scholarly publishing standards evolve.
